Results published today by the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) indicate that the Total Cost of ground transportation for Canadian Shippers decreased by 3.4% in November when compared with October results.
The Base Rate Index, which excludes the impact of Accessorial Charges assessed by carriers, decreased 3.1% when compared to October.
Average Fuel Surcharges assessed by Carriers decreased marginally this month. Fuel was 12.94% of Base Rates in November versus 12.96% in October.
“Total Freight Costs continue to slide. Truckload, both Domestic and Cross Border had the largest decline. Year over Year, Domestic LTL and Truckload is still in negative territory, while Cross Border Truckload and LTL are up year over,” said Doug Payne, President & COO, Nulogx.
