Results published today by the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) indicate that the cost of ground transportation for Canadian Shippers increased by 0.03 % in September when compared with August results.
The Base Rate Index, which excludes the impact of Accessorial Charges assessed by carriers, increased by .05% when compared to August 2012.
Average Fuel Surcharges assessed by Carriers have seen an increase from 19.63% of Base Rates in August 2012 to 20.48% in September 2012.
“Domestic LTL has shown a steady increase YTD while Domestic Truckload has seen the largest decline YTD however there has been a marginal increase in this segment over the past 2 months.” said Doug Payne, President & COO, Nulogx. “Year over year, total cost of Freight is comparable to July 2011.” continued Payne.
