Results published today by the Canadian General Freight Index (CGFI) indicate that the Total Cost of ground transportation for Canadian Shippers decreased by 2.7 % in May when compared with April results.
The Base Rate Index, which excludes the impact of Accessorial Charges assessed by carriers, decreased by 2.5 % when compared to March 2013.
Average Fuel Surcharges assessed by Carriers have seen a decrease from 21.34 % of Base Rates in April to 20.26 % in May.
“The increases from November to March have all been erased.” said Doug Payne, President & COO, Nulogx. “Total costs are now 1.2% below a year ago.” continue Payne.
